Losing weight can be frustrating and challenging, but using some of the following methods can be fun and effective.
The foundation for weight loss will always be to move more and eat less. The following ideas are some fun and unique ways to eat less and move more. Create a checklist of all these items (and more). The more checks you have, the more fat you’re going to be burning.
Punch the Air
Practice some homemade tae-bo while walking around your home. Next time you’re walking around your house, punch the air as intensely as you can. The more you flex your muscles while punching, the more calories you’ll be burning.
Eat Before Shopping
You already know this one, but it’s time to start implementing it. There may be days when you don’t have enough to eat a healthy meal (no fast food!) before stopping at the grocery store. To combat this, stock your car with some healthy and filling snacks, like dried fruit, nuts, cereal, granola bars. By eating a small snack, you can curb your appetite and reduce the amount of junk food that ends up in your cart.
Motivational Notebook
Everyone has moments where they feel like giving up. Create a motivational notebook to overcome such challenges. Include quotes, pictures, ideas, and other motivation strategies.
Purchase and Pack Easy Snacks
Experts encourage people to eat small amounts throughout the day. Stock your house and office with easy, convenient, and healthy snacks like nuts, pretzels, string cheese, fruit, carrots, and air-popped popcorn. Munching throughout the day reduces appetite during main meals.
Eat More Fiber
Start eating cereal with fiber in the morning. There are plenty of tasty options available. Find other ways to eat healthy amounts of fiber.
Add Nuts and Olive Oil to Salads
Nuts and Olive Oil are a great way to spruce up a salad. Also, try avocados, olives, and soy cheese for extra variety.
Cut Down on Alcohol
Save alcohol for special events, and start noticing the pounds drop off. Alcohol is detrimental to any weight loss program. Various studies have shown that alcohol increases weight loss due to the way the body metabolizes it. The body basically converts alcohol into a substance called acetate, which the body uses as fuel instead of the fat already stored in the body, which means the body doesn’t burn off the fat that it normally would.
Speed Squats
Watch the clock, and complete as many squats as possible in 5 minutes without stopping. This is a fun and challenging way to incorporate exercise into daily activities. Make a note of how many squats were completed and aim to beat that amount the next time. Squats help build muscle and burn calories.
Bath Situps and Shower Dancing
The key to weight loss is movement. Use shower time as a chance to move some more. Blast the radio, and don’t be afraid to dance in the shower (be careful not to slip).
