Delicious Carrot Baby Food Combinations

I always love making homemade baby food and purees for my son because of all the extra vitamins and flavors you can create! If you are wondering what baby food recipes you can make with carrots, you’re in the right spot. Today I used 6 healthy ingredients to make 3 different purees for baby! Carrot, Mango, Peach, and Sweet Potato Baby Food

Carrot and Broccoli Baby Food

Carrot Baby Food
Ingredients
- 4 ½ cups raw carrots peeled and chopped (around 15 medium sized carrots)
- 1 large mango peeled and chopped
- ⅓ cup peaches peeled and chopped
- ⅓ cup sweet potato peeled and chopped
- ½ cup banana peeled and chopped
- 1 cup broccoli florets washed and chopped
Instructions
- Wash, peel, and chop carrots into ½ inch pieces. Place in a large pot and cover with water.
- Bring water to a boil over high heat. As soon as it starts to boil, cover and reduce to low heat. Simmer until fork-tender.
- Strain carrots and set aside. Repeat with broccoli and sweet potatoes.
- Divide carrots into separate bowls, in 3 equal parts. (a little over one cup each after cooking)
- First, make the carrot, banana, and mango baby food. Add 1 chopped banana (about ½ cup) to one of the carrot bowls. Add ½ cup chopped mango.
- Place the ingredients into your food processor or blender. Blend on low for about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape the sides down with a spoon. Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Transfer to an ice cube tray for freezing or a serving bowl for immediate use.
- Next, make the carrot and broccoli baby food. Add 1 cup broccoli to one of the carrot bowls. Transfer to your food processor or blender. Blend on low for about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape the sides down with a spoon. Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Transfer to an ice cube tray for freezing or a serving bowl for immediate use.
- Last, make the mango, peach, carrot, and sweet potato baby food. Add ⅓ cup chopped mango, ⅓ cup chopped peaches, and ⅓ cup sweet potato to the last carrot bowl. Transfer to your food processor or blender. Blend on low for about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape the sides down with a spoon. Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Transfer to an ice cube tray for freezing or a serving bowl for immediate use.
Notes
If your baby food is too thick, add breast milk or water. You can also use water left over from boiling the vegetables.
Thaw baby food in refrigerator when ready to use from frozen.
If heating baby food, always stir thoroughly and only heat for a few seconds at a time. Test the temperature before giving to baby.
It is recommended on the CDC website from the American Academy of Pediatrics to start solids at around 6 months. Wait 3-5 days between trying new foods. At 7-8months, babies can have more variety. Every child is different, so please consult your baby’s doctor if you are unsure about when to feed your baby solids.
Baby cereal and/or breastmilk can be mixed in with this baby food.
Use organic fruits and vegetables where possible.
The fruits do not need to be cooked for this recipe, just peeled and chopped.
Each baby food in this recipe makes around 1 ¼ cups of baby food.
This can be covered and stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
