Avocado Baby Puree
Why I Love Avocado Baby Puree
Avocado baby puree is one of my favorite baby purees to make for my little ones. It’s a great one to introduce early because it’s packed full of healthy fats which not only keeps your baby growing but also gives it the smoothest texture.
It also has the perfect amount of flavor. Babies can get overwhelmed by purees with too much flavor and I’ve always found that avocados are a huge hit.
Do you need a special appliance to make baby food?
Baby food appliances are great. In fact, this baby steamer/blender combo is a great one to have on hand. They can be so handy for little batches of baby food.
If you want to make a big batch you’ll probably want to use a full-sized blender. So if you want to skip the extra kitchen appliance, a blender or food processor will work just as well for purees, especially a soft puree like this!
The Ninja is a great blender when you are making baby purees. Its blades make for the most smooth and luscious puree that is perfect for little mouths.
How to Make Avocado Baby Food

Best Avocado Baby Food Combinations
Avocados are so easy to pair with all your favorite foods both sweet and savory.
If your baby is just beginning their table food journey, pairing avocado with pears, apples, corn, or even bell peppers is a great option.
For more experienced eaters, try mixing in some pureed chicken or turkey, or serving with a side of thinly sliced tomatoes or strips of soft tortillas.
Storing Avocado Baby Puree
All you need to store this puree is an airtight container and it should last about 2-3 days in the fridge.
When you are making baby purees, you want to scoop out a serving for your baby and store the rest without dipping a used spoon into the leftovers. That way you won’t risk any bacteria entering into the puree.
Simply take your leftovers and place them in an airtight container. Stick the container in the fridge until your baby is ready to eat. You may want to pre-portion the puree into small containers so that all you need to do is grab one and you’re ready to go!
Can you freeze avocado puree?
Absolutely! For easy freezing, squeeze your puree into ice cube trays. Let the tray freeze and transfer the perfectly portioned avocado cubes into a freezer-safe bag and freeze up to 4 months.
Avocado browns pretty easily so you’ll want to squeeze a little bit of lemon juice right on top to cover the puree before you freeze it. The acid in the lemon will prevent browning and is completely baby safe!
To thaw, place however many cubes you need in the fridge to thaw for about a day until you can stir up the puree back into the perfectly smooth bite your baby will love!
