Blueberry Baby Food is like summer in a jar, and now you can make it right at home! Check out this sweet and simple blueberry baby puree for your little ones.

Blueberry Baby Puree

No-Fuss Blueberry Baby Food

Believe it or not, making your own blueberry puree is crazy simple! Start with fresh berries and in under an hour you’ll have made and stored some yummy baby food that’s full of antioxidants.

Blueberries support a healthy immune system and gut health which is exactly what a new little baby needs when they’re entering the world of table food.

There’s something so great about this blueberry baby food. The rich color and the tangy berry smell is just to die for. You’ll definitely be stealing a bite or two of this batch!

Fresh vs Frozen Blueberries

Blueberries are in season around the summertime in most places in the United States. If you can find a good bunch of berries, fresh is always going to be the best option for making baby food.

Scroll down to see how you can freeze this puree and you can make enough to last you all year with those sweet summer berries!

If you can’t find fresh blueberries, though, don’t worry! Frozen berries will work just fine. After you thaw them you won’t lose very many nutrients and they’ll be perfect for baby food!

Blueberry Baby Food

Ingredients

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/8 cup water

Instructions

  • If using fresh blueberries clean the blueberries. If using frozen, thawed completely before putting in the blender.
  • Add 1/8 cup of water.
  • Blend until desire texture.

Notes

NOTE: You can use frozen or fresh blueberries. If using frozen, thawed them before putting in the blender. Also, frozen blueberries contain more water, you may have to adjust water. I usually starts with 1 tablespoon and go from there.

Best Blueberry Baby Food Combinations

You can make some serious magic by mixing this puree with some other flavors! Blueberries have a more intense flavor than some other fruits, but they can still handle a good combination!

Make a basic fruit medley by mixing blueberry, pear, apple, or banana. It’s like a baby fruit smoothie and they’ll be begging for more!

You could also try something different and nutrient-dense like blueberry and avocado, or blueberry and peas. If you have a more advanced eater, oatmeal and this blueberry puree is a great combo!

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with blueberry and anything!

Storing Blueberry Baby Puree

This blueberry baby food is something you’ll want to have on hand, so safely storing is so important!

To keep it fresh, you should store the puree in an airtight container in the fridge. It should last about 3-4 days. YOU CAN ALSO REALLY LIKE THIS SET OF BABY FOOD CONTAINERS. THE DIFFERENT COLORS OF LIDS ARE SO HANDY IF YOU’RE FREEZING DIFFERENT PUREES AND IT EVEN COMES WITH SOME CUTE LABELS TO USE!

Freezing

To freeze, place the puree in a freezer-safe airtight container or containers and keep frozen for up to 4 months. If you want pre-portioned baby food, try using a silicone ice cube tray to make little blueberry cubes that you can thaw one at a time when you are ready to use them.

A great trick for teething babies: putting frozen fruit purees like this one in a silicone baby feeder! Just grab some of the frozen blueberry baby food and put it right in the feeder. Your baby will thank you!
